Message From Club President

Thanks for visiting our website. The Chittenango Polar Bears Snowmobile Club is committed to advocating snowmobiling safety and enjoyment. By developing and maintaining safe and environmentally-friendly trails, we strive to promote and provide a snowmobiling experience like nowhere else.  With the beautiful scenery of our unique area, along with dedicated volunteers and generous landowners, we hope to increase local tourism for the benefit of our fellow neighbors and merchants.  If you're from out of town we invite you to ride our trails and see for yourself.  As always, we welcome you to consider membership in the Polar Bears. We are a family oriented charitable club working to enhance the community where we live and enjoy the sport.

Tom Hanggi, President, Chittenango Polar Bears

Landowners - The Backbone of the New York State Snowmobile Trail System
Nearly 80% of the snowmobile trails in New York are located on private lands. We appreciate the partnership with our landowners, and remind all snowmobilers to treat the trails- and the property owners- with respect. Landowners participating in the NYS snowmobile trail system are eligible for liability coverage under the blanket NYSSA insurance policy, at no cost to the property owner. Landowners allowing access to snowmobile clubs are also protected by the provisions of the NYS General Obligations Law. The snowmobile club is responsible for proper trail signage and grooming.
